Setup Guide

  1. Power On:
    Plug the unit into mains power or ensure the internal battery is fully charged.
  2. Initial Configuration:
    On first use, navigate through the settings menu to set the date/time, company logo (if applicable), and preferred test parameters.
  3. User Login (if required):
    Use the onboard touchscreen or keypad to log in with your assigned credentials.
  4. Connecting the Appliance:
    Use the appropriate test sockets, earth probe, and IEC leads provided.
  5. Select Test Type:
    Choose from the built-in automated sequences or create a custom test using the touch interface.
  6. Run the Test:
    Press "Start" and follow the on-screen prompts. Results will be displayed upon completion.
  7. Saving Results:
    Test results are stored internally or can be exported to a USB, barcode scanner, or transferred via Bluetooth.
  8. Printing Tags:
    Ensure the paired printer (e.g., Zebra or Brother) is connected and powered on. Select "Print" after a successful test to generate a compliant tag label.

Yes. Using PATGuard 3 software or directly on the device, you can create and save custom test sequences tailored to different appliance types or client requirements.

How do I pair the tester with a Bluetooth printer or scanner?

Navigate to the Bluetooth settings on the device, enable pairing mode, and select your printer or scanner from the available list. Enter the passcode (commonly "0000" or "1234") to complete pairing.

Can I back up and manage test data on a PC?

Absolutely. Use the USB export function or connect to your PC via PATGuard 3 software to manage records, generate reports, and maintain digital compliance logs.

How long does the battery last on a full charge?

Depending on usage, the internal battery can support approximately 1,000–1,200 tests. We recommend recharging overnight or carrying a spare battery for high-volume field use.

The tester won't recognise my printer - what can I do?

First, ensure the printer is powered on and within range. Confirm Bluetooth is enabled on the tester.
