Setup Guide

  1. Powering On
    • The Trisan S8 is mains-powered only — plug it into a standard 240V power outlet
    • Once connected, the tester will power up automatically
  2. Performing a Test
    • Step 1: Plug the appliance into the socket on the tester
    • Step 2: Attach the earth clip (crocodile clip) to the exposed metal on the appliance
    • Step 3: Press the relevant test button — Earth Bond, Insulation, or Leakage (depending on what test you are conducting)
    • Step 4: Read the result on the digital display. The tester shows a clear PASS or FAIL indication, along with the test value
  3. Testing Extension Leads
    • Plug the extension lead into the tester's socket
    • Use the supplied adaptor if testing multi-socket leads
    • Perform Polarity and Continuity checks as prompted
  4. Using RCD Test Mode
    • Plug the RCD into the tester
    • Press the dedicated RCD Test button
    • The S8 will simulate a fault and record the trip time - check against standard thresholds
